  • Soccer Earns NSCAA College Team Academic Award for 2015-16 Season

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Simmons College women's soccer team has been named a recipient of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award for the 2015-16 academic year it was announced today. The honor is given to soccer programs throughout the United States for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College women’s soccer players Ali Berkman (Natick, Mass.) and Issy Verrilli (Naugatuck, Conn.) were both named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference First Team, while Kashka Gammon (Nashua, N.H.) and Greer Gilbert (Falmouth, Mass.) were each tabbed to the Second Team, it was announced today by the league. Victoria Russo (Braintree, Mass.) was also selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team for the Sharks.

    PAXTON, Mass. - Senior midfielder Ali Berkman (Natick, Mass.) netted a pair of goals to lead the Simmons College women's soccer team over host Anna Maria College, 4-0, this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at AMCAT Field in Paxton, Mass. The Sharks improve to 9-8-0 overall, including 8-3-0 in league play, while the AMCATS fall to 3-12-1 and 1-8-1. Simmons secured the number four seed in the GNAC Championship Tournament with the win.

The Sharks fall to 8-8-0 overall and 7-3-0 in league play, while the Wildcats win their fifth straight league match to improve to 10-6-1 and 8-1-1.

The Sharks fall to 8-7-0 on the season, including 7-2-0 in league play, while the Blue Jays improve to 7-7-0 and 5-4-0.

    BOSTON, Mass. - Senior forward Greer Gilbert (Falmouth, Mass.) netted both goals, including the game-winner in overtime to give the Simmons College women's soccer team a 2-1 victory over host Emmanuel College this evening on Clemente Field in Boston, Mass. The Sharks win their fifth straight to improve to 8-6-0 overall and 7-1-0 in league play, while the Saints fall to 8-8-0 and 6-2-0.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons women’s soccer player Kashka Gammon (Nashua, N.H.) was named the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference and Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of October 5-11, it was announced by each league. Gammon earns the award from both organizations for the second straight week.
  • Gammon Leads Soccer to Fourth Straight Win with 2-0 Defeat of Host Suffolk

    EAST BOSTON, Mass. - Sophomore Kashka Gammon (Nashua, N.H.) tallied a pair of goals for her third straight multiple-goal effort to lead the Simmons College women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over host Suffolk University this evening in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at James A. Sartori Stadium in East Boston, Mass. The Sharks win their fourth straight match for their longest win streak since 2006 and improve to 7-6-0 overall and 6-1-0 in league play to clinch a playoff spot in the GNAC Championship Tournament. The Rams fall to 3-11-0 and 2-5-0.

    NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Sophomore forward Kashka Gammon (Nashua, N.H.) registered her first career hat trick to lead the Simmons College women's soccer team to a 4-1 victory over host Norwich University this evening in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match in Northfield, Vt. The Sharks win their third straight match to improve to 6-6-0 overall and 5-1-0 in league play, while the Cadets fall to 2-8-1 and 0-5-1.

    NASHUA, N.H. - Sophomore forward Kashka Gammon (Nashua, N.H.) made her homecoming a good one, netting a career-best two goals to lead the Simmons College women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over host Rivier University in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match this afternoon at Raider Field in Nashua, N.H. The Sharks improve to 5-6-0 and 4-1-0 with their second straight conference win and shutout, while the Raiders fall to 2-6-1 and 0-5-0.

  • Gilbert Lifts Soccer Over Eastern Connecticut in Overtime, 3-2, to Complete Comeback

    MANSFIELD, Conn. – Senior forward Greer Gilbert (Falmouth, Mass.) scored 2:20 into sudden death overtime to give the Simmons College women’s soccer team a 3-2 victory over host Eastern Connecticut State University this evening at the Mansfield Outdoor Complex in Mansfield, Conn. The Sharks snap a three-match losing skid to improve to 1-3-0 on the season, while handing Eastern (2-1-1) its first loss and defeating the Warriors after being shut out in the first two meetings in the series.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Senior goalie Briana Hayes (Manorville, N.Y.) stopped nine shots for the Simmons College women's soccer team, but it wasn't enough as visiting Smith College came away with a 1-0 victory in the season opener for both teams this evening on Winsor Field in Boston, Mass. The Pioneers improve to 1-0 on the year, while the Sharks fall to 0-1.
  • Soccer Looks to Experience in Quest for GNAC Crown

    BOSTON, Mass. - There are certain things that are valuable to a team that can't be coached and one of them is experience. The Simmons College Women's Soccer has been there, done that with 11 seniors returning, including six, who have started the majority of their respective careers. All told, the Sharks return all but one starter from last year's squad that finished third in the conference standings. Simmons is battle-tested and knows what it takes to get to the playoffs and will look to return to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament and challenge for the league title.
