The Naugatuck High School product finishes her tenure with Simmons, having started 66 of 69 matches that she competed in, while registering three points on a goal and an assist. She became the first player in school history to earn GNAC Defensive Player of the Year honors last season.

For the third straight season, Gilbert earns All-Conference honors. The senior earned First Team honors last year and was tabbed for the Second Team as a sophomore. The forward was one of four players in the league to record at least seven goals and seven assists for the season. She started all 19 matches for the Sharks and ranked among the conference leaders in conference-only matches, placing fifth with 17 points, sixth with five assists and seventh with six goals. Gilbert was named the GNAC Player of the Week for the week of September 7-13. The forward made her scores count, racking up five game-winning markers. From September 30 to October 13, she was arguably the best offensive player in the conference, scoring eight goals and adding an assist during a five-match point streak that saw her total 17 points during the stretch.
