  • Lacrosse Receives IWLCA Honor Squad Award; Bragg, Maiewski, Mihalich Named to Academic Honor Roll

    GRAND LAKE, Colo. -- The Simmons University women's lacrosse team was named a 2019 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Zag Sports Honor Squad in addition to seniors  Elena Bragg (Belmont, Mass.) and Missie Maiewski (Northampton, Mass.) and junior Kristen Mihalich (East Rockaway, N.Y.) being named to the Academic Honor Roll, it was announced today by the IWLCA.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University’s Elena Bragg (Belmont, Mass.), Mallory Cottam (Hope, R.I.) and Molly Reinhold (Mystic, Conn.) were all named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Second Team, while Missie Maiewski (Northampton, Mass.) and Lauren Williams (Bowdoinham, Maine) were selected Third Team All-Conference selections, it was announced by the league. 
  • Lacrosse Falls to Johnson & Wales, 20-5, in GNAC Tournament Semifinals

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The fifth-seeded Simmons University women's lacrosse team was defeated by host number one seeded Johnson & Wales University, 20-5, this evening in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament Semifinals at Scotts Miracle-Gro Field in Providence, R.I. The Sharks finish their season with a 10-7 record, while the Wildcats improve to 15-4 and will host second-seeded Regis (Mass.) on Saturday, May 4 at 1:00 p.m. in their fourth straight GNAC Championship match. Regis defeated the number three seed Lasell College, 15-14.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University’s Cat Cross (Beverly, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Goalie of the Week for the week of April 22-28, it was announced today by the league. 
  • Cottam Leads Lacrosse over Colby-Sawyer in Overtime, 10-9, in GNAC Quarterfinals

    NEW LONDON, N.H. -- Senior midfielder Mallory Cottam (Hope, R.I.) netted a career-high seven goals, including the game-winning strike in overtime to give the fifth-seeded Simmons University women's lacrosse team an 10-9 victory over host number four seed Colby-Sawyer College this afternoon in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament Quarterfinals at Veitch Turf Field in New London, N.H. The Sharks improve to 10-6 on the season and register their third upset playoff victory in the last three seasons, while the Chargers end their season at 10-7.
  • Cottam Gives Lacrosse 9-8 Overtime Road Win over Norwich

    NORTHFIELD, Vt. -- Senior midfielder Mallory Cottam (Hope, R.I.) tallied six points, including the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Simmons University women's lacrosse team a 9-8 victory over host Norwich University this evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Sabine Field in Northfield, Vt. The Sharks win their fourth straight for their longest win streak since 2013 and improve to 9-6 overall and 7-4 in league play in their regular-season finale, while the Cadets fall to 7-9 and 4-7.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Seniors Mallory Cottam (Hope, R.I.) and Elena Bragg (Belmont, Mass.) each netted four goals to lead the Simmons University women’s lacrosse team over visiting Emmanuel College (Mass.), 17-7, this afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks win their third straight match to improve to 8-6 overall and 6-4 in league play, while the Saints fall to 6-8 and 4-6. 
  • Reinhold Leads Lacrosse over Saint Joseph (Conn.); Cottam Nets 100th Career Goal

    BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore midfielder Molly Reinhold (Mystic, Conn.) tallied seven points, including six goals and senior midfielder Mallory Cottam (Hope, R.I.) became the sixth player in school history to score 100 career goals for the Simmons University women’s lacrosse team in a 16-5 victory over visiting University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match this evening at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks improve to 7-6 overall, including 5-4 in league play, while the Blue Jays fall to 2-11 and 0-10.

    NASHUA, N.H. -- Sophomore midfielder Molly Reinhold (Mystic, Conn.) (six) and senior midfielder Mallory Cottam (Hope, R.I.) (five) combined to net 11 goals to lead the Simmons University women's lacrosse team to a 23-12 victory over host Rivier University this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at Raider Field in Nashua, N.H. The Sharks improve to 6-6 overall, including 4-4 in league play, while the Raiders fall to 3-9 and 2-6.

The Sharks fall to 5-5 on the season, while the Corsairs improve to 4-5.

    BOSTON, Mass. –  The Simmons University women's lacrosse team was defeated by visiting Colby-Sawyer College, 18-5, today in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks fall to 5-4 overall, including 3-3 in league play, while the Chargers win their fifth straight to improve to 6-2 and 5-2.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Simmons University women’s lacrosse team erased a six-goal deficit and scored the final eight goals to earn a 15-13 victory over visiting Saint Joseph’s College (Maine) this evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks improve to 5-3 overall, including 3-2 in league play, while the Monks fall to 4-4 and 4-1.

    WESTON, Mass. -- The Simmons University women's lacrosse team was unable to overcome a three-goal halftime deficit and fell to host Regis (Mass.), 9-5, this afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Regis Stadium in Weston, Mass. The Sharks fall to 4-3 overall, including 2-2 in league play, while the Pride improve to 4-1 and 3-0.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Senior midfielder Elena Bragg (Belmont, Mass.) netted her third goal of the night just 64 seconds into overtime and sophomore goalie Cat Cross (Beverly, Mass.) stopped 18 shots to help lead the Simmons University women’s lacrosse team over visiting Curry College, 9-8, this evening at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks improve to 4-2 on the season, while the Colonels fall to 3-2.

    PAXTON, Mass. -- Sophomore midfielder Molly Reinhold (Mystic, Conn.) and senior Missie Maiewski (Northampton, Mass.) each tallied five points apiece to lead the Simmons University women's lacrosse team to a 23-1 victory over host Anna Maria College today in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at AMCAT Stadium in Paxton, Mass. The Sharks improve to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in league play, while the AMCATS fall to 0-3 and 0-3.
  • Lacrosse Falls to Framingham State, 16-8

    BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore midfielder Molly Reinhold (Mystic, Conn.) scored three goals to lead the Simmons University women’s lacrosse team in a 16-8 loss to visiting Framingham State University this evening at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks fall to 2-2 on the season, while the Rams improve to 3-1. The match was the first between the schools since the 2012 season.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore midfielder Molly Reinhold (Mystic, Conn.) scored four goals and assisted on another to lead the Simmons University women’s lacrosse team over host Albertus Magnus College, 11-3, today in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Celentano Field in New Haven, Conn. The Sharks improve to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in league play, while the Falcons fall to 0-2 and 0-1. 
  • Richards Leads Women's Lacrosse over Southern Vermont, 19-0; Devilbiss Records First Coaching Win

    BOSTON, Mass. – Junior midfielder Kingsley Richards (Lexington, Mass.) tallied a career-high eight points on five goals and three assists to lead the Simmons University women’s lacrosse team over visiting Southern Vermont College, 19-0, today at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. in the season opener for both teams. The Sharks improve to 1-0 on the season, while the Mountaineers fall to 0-1.
