    NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Simmons College women's tennis team defeated host Smith College, 7-2, this afternoon in Northampton, Mass. The Sharks win their 11th straight match to improve to 14-2 on the season in their first dual match of the season since October 26. The Pioneers fall to 4-9.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College women’s tennis players Meg Cokely (Haverhill, Mass.), Caroline Khoury (Portsmouth, Ohio), Theresa Reinhard (Canton, Ohio), Cathy Baker (Simbury, Conn.) and Han DK Le (Tra Vinh, Vietnam/Matignon HS (Mass.) were all named All-Conference by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference in addition to Head Coach Bob Rauseo being selected Co-Coach of the Year and Le earning Rookie of the Year honors, it was announced today by the league.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College women’s tennis player Katie Crowley (Reading, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced today by the league. It’s the second straight week that Crowley has been tabbed. The Sharks have had a player selected as the weekly top player five times this season. Junior Meg Cokely (Haverhill, Mass.) was the recipient for the weeks of September 1-7 and September 15-21, while sophomore Theresa Reinhard (Canton, Ohio) got the nod for the week of September 8-14.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College women’s tennis player Han DK Le (Tra Vinh, Vietnam/Matignon HS (Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week, it was announced today by the league. Le has been named a league-high five times. She was also honored for the weeks of September 1-7, September 15-21 and each of the last three weeks. The Sharks’ first year Mary Matthews (Wakefield, R.I.) was also tabbed for the week of September 8-14.

    WINCHESTER, Mass. – The top-seeded Simmons College women’s tennis team defeated second-seeded Johnson & Wales University, 7-2, this afternoon to win the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship this afternoon at the Winchester Indoor Lawn Tennis Center in Winchester, Mass. The Sharks win their seventh straight GNAC crown and their 10th in the last 11 years and their 10th match in a row to improve to 13-2 on the season, while the Wildcats fall to 12-2 to finish their season.

The match was played to decision.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Junior Caroline Khoury (Portsmouth, Ohio) was a double-winner to lead the Simmons College women's tennis team to a 9-0 victory over host Albertus Magnus College this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match in New Haven, Conn. The Sharks win their sixth straight dual match to improve to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in league play. They finish the GNAC slate undefeated for the seventh straight season and have now won 52 straight league matches. The Falcons fall to 3-6 and 0-3.
