Cokely, Reinhardt Earn Wins for Tennis at ITA Regionals

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Junior Meg Cokely (Haverhill, Mass.) and sophomore Theresa Reinhard (Canton, Ohio) both captured first round consolation singles wins on the second day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association New England Regional Championship tournament at Williams College in Williamstown, Mass.

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Junior Meg Cokely (Haverhill, Mass.) and sophomore Theresa Reinhard (Canton, Ohio) both captured first round consolation singles wins on the second day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association New England Regional Championship tournament at Williams College in Williamstown, Mass.

Cokely defeated sophomore Kelli Cheung (Plainfield, N.J.), 6-3, 6-0, in the first round of consolation singles play, while Reinhard took a 6-1, 7-6 decision over Smith College senior Jordan Dubin (Southampton, N.Y.). Tournament play came to an end for both Sharks in the second round. Cokely was beaten by Middlebury College sophomore Lily Bondy (Brooklyn, N.Y.), 6-0, 6-0, while Bowdoin College's Corrine Alini defeated Reinhard, 6-3, 6-1.

Junior Katie Crowley (Reading, Mass.) had earned a spot in the consolation singles first round by way of an entry win the day before, but fell in her first round match to sophomore Elizabeth Erbafina (Sudbury, Mass.) of Bates College, 6-0, 6-0.

Crowley also teamed with junior Rachael Downey (Groveland, Mass.) in consolation doubles play, suffering an 8-0 defeat to the Middlebury sophomore pair of Kaysee Orozco (New Milford, N.J.) and Jennifer Sundstrom (Bradenton, Fla.).

Simmons returns to dual match play tomorrow when its hosts Great Northeast Athletic Conference foe Anna Maria College at Harvard University's Beren Tennis Center in Cambridge, Mass. at 12:00 p.m.
