    BOSTON, Mass. -- On Saturday, April 13th Simmons Soccer held its annual alumnae game. The Sharks welcomed alumnae from as far back as the Class of 2004 as they joined the current senior class to compete against the returning team.

    NEWTON, Mass. – The Lasell College women’s soccer team earned their third straight Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship with a 2-0 victory over the Simmons Sharks Sunday afternoon. The second seeded Lasers used a pair of second half goals and some stout defending to defeat the fourth seeded Sharks and earn the GNAC automatic bid. Lasell stands at 14-4-1 on the season, while Simmons fell to 11-8-1.
  • Beauchamp Named to 2012 Capital One Academic All-District® Division III Women's Soccer Team

    BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons senior Justine Beauchamp (Exeter, N.H.) was named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District® Division III Women’s Soccer Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday. The selections recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

    WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Simmons junior Carolyn Berndt (Trumbull, Conn.) buried the clinching penalty kick to lift the No. 4 Simmons Sharks over the No. 1 University of Saint Joseph Blue Jays after a scoreless Great Northeast Athletic Conference game at the University of Hartford Thursday evening. The Sharks advance to the GNAC soccer championship game after winning the penalty kick shootout, 4-2.

    BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons defeated Emmanuel, 2-0, in a critical Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women’s soccer game played under the lights at Roberto Clemente Field on Wednesday night. Simmons put together a two-goal first half and it was all the Sharks would need to top the host Saints, as they improved to 8-6 on the season and 7-3 in GNAC play. With their victory, the Sharks halted the Saints’ four-game win streak and spree of three-straight shutouts, as Emmanuel fell to 9-5-1 overall and 5-3-1 in the league.

The Blue and White, who posted their fifth shutout in the last six games, improved to 8-0-2, and is ranked 16th in the country and third in New England by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The Sharks slipped to 4-5.

Freshman goalkeeper Briana Hayes (Manorville, N.Y.) earned her first collegiate shutout with 15 saves if the effort.
  • Simmons Soccer Falls to SUNY New Paltz on First Day of Sharks Invitational

    BOSTON, Mass. -- Sharks soccer had their chances but the SUNY New Paltz Hawks controlled the field and went on to win 6-0 on the opening day of the Sharks Invitational Saturday afternoon. Simmons (0-2) junior Kristyn Heuslein (Manchester, N.H.) led the Sharks with six shots while Hawks goalkeeper Stephanie Vega was perfect in net, stopping all 10 shots she faced.
  • MIT Women’s Soccer Defeats Simmons, 3-1 in Season Opener

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - MIT women’s soccer team defeated local rival the Simmons Sharks, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon. Junior Samantha Fleischmann (Eastchester, N.Y.) led the Engineers with two assists, while Sharks senior Justine Beauchamp’s (Exeter, N.H.) penalty kick marked the lone goal for the Sharks. With the win, MIT improved to 1-1 for the season, as Simmons’ ledger lowered to 0-1.

Three of the 2011 All-Conference selections; Justine Beauchamp (Exeter, N.H.), Katie McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine) and Desh Perera (Reading, Mass.) will captain the 2012 squad.
