WESTON, Mass. – Simmons soccer (1-13-2, 1-11-2 GNAC) dropped a road Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match to Regis College (8-4-4, 7-3-4 GNAC) on Saturday afternoon.

The Sharks came out strong and threatened to score first after earning an early corner kick opportunity. However, graduate senior Riley Wasiuk shot escaped high of the target to keep the game scoreless. Registering two saves in the first 30 minutes, sophomore goalkeeper Julia Rodgers and the Shark defense kept Simmons in the contest.

Midway through the first half, the Pride was able to capitalize following three corner kicks. In the 33rd minute the Pride's Sam Perkins score the game's first goal and gave Regis the 1-0 lead, which they took into the halftime break.

When the teams returned to the pitch at the start of the second half, junior Steph Mendoza nearly registered the equalizer, but pushed it too far to the right. Six minutes later the Pride added an insurance goal to extend their lead to two. While Simmons hung tough, it was more than enough as the Pride hung on for their eighth victory of the season.

SIMMONS HIGHLIGHTS
