The Sharks scored the game-winning goal just 2:43 into the first half when Ally Ayotte (Litchfield, N.H.) served up a ball from the corner to Dupont who beat AMCATS goalkeeper Sarah Benvenuti. Less than a minute later, Keri Acheson (Peabody, Mass.) found the back of the net followed by Justine Beauchamp (Exeter, N.H.) and Meredith Riker (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) to give the Sharks a 4-0 lead in the first five minutes of the game.

Over the course of the game, the Sharks had goals by Ayotte, DiTraglia, Greer Gilbert (Falmouth, Mass.), Becca Kemp (Mansfield, Mass.), Alexa Faria (Cumberland, R.I.), Melissa Rowe (Southport, N.C.), and Michaela Schilling (York, Maine).

Anna Maria (1-10, 0-8 GNAC) had their best opportunity when Christina Turley took a point blank shot on the Sharks net but Simmons netminder Amber Verrill (Windham, Maine) made the save to complete her first collegiate shutout.

The Sharks held a sizable advantage in shots 53-3 and a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks. Verrill combined with Ayotte for three saves for the Sharks, while Benvenuti made 22 saves in the loss.
