  • Bragg, Fries, Maiewski, Potter Named to 2018 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

    GRAND LAKE, Colo. - The Simmons College women's lacrosse team was named a 2018 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Zag Sports Honor Squad in addition to seniors Kasey Fries (Bridgewater, Mass.) and Jolene Potter (Readfield, Maine) as well as juniors Elena Bragg (Belmont, Mass.) and Missie Maiewski (Northampton, Mass.) being named to the Academic Honor Roll, it was announced by the IWLCA.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College’s Kasey Fries (Bridgewater, Mass.) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference First Team, while Mallory Cottam (Hope, R.I.) and Lauren Williams (Bowdoinham, Maine) were each selected to the Third Team, it was announced today by the league.

    AUBURNDALE, Mass. -- The seventh-seeded Simmons College women's lacrosse team was defeated by number two seed Lasell College, 21-11, this afternoon in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament Quarterfinals at Grellier Field in Auburndale, Mass. The Sharks close out their season with an 8-9 record. The Lasers improve to 13-3 on the season and advance to host the GNAC Semifinals on Tuesday, May 1 at 3:30 p.m., taking on number three seed Mount Ida College, a 19-8 winner over sixth-seeded Norwich University. 
  • Lacrosse Edged at Emmanuel (Mass.), 11-10

    BOSTON, Mass. -- The Simmons College women's lacrosse team was unable to prevent a comeback from host Emmanuel College (Mass.) as the Saints posted an 11-10 victory in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference game this evening at Roberto Clemente Field in Boston, Mass. The Sharks finish the regular season with an overall record of 8-8, including 4-6 in league play, while Emmanuel concludes its season at 3-11 and 3-7. Simmons heads into the GNAC Championship Tournament as the number seven seed and will travel to Auburndale, Mass. to take on second-seeded Lasell College on Saturday, April 28.

    BOSTON, Mass. -- Senior attacker Kasey Fries (Bridgewater, Mass.) scored three goals to lead the Simmons College women's lacrosse team in an 11-7 loss to visiting Regis (Mass.) this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks fall to 8-7 overall and 4-5 in league play, while the Pride win their seventh straight to improve to 12-3 and 7-2.

    NEW BRITAIN, Conn. -- Senior attacker Kasey Fries (Bridgewater, Mass.) tallied a game-high six points and sophomore defender Krystianna Pietrzak (Bennington, Vt.) scored her first collegiate goal in a 15-5 victory over host University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match played at Central Connecticut State University's Arute Field in New Britain, Conn. The Sharks improve to 8-6 overall and 4-4 in GNAC play, while the Blue Jays fall to 2-8 and 0-8.

Katz Field in Milton, Mass. The Sharks fall to 7-6 on the season, while the Colonels improve to 4-7.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Simmons College women’s lacrosse team erased a late four-goal deficit and senior Kasey Fries (Bridgewater, Mass.) became the school’s career leader in points in a 15-14 overtime victory over visiting Norwich University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action tonight at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks improve to 7-5 overall and 3-4 in league play, while the Cadets fall to 5-5 and 3-3.

The Sharks fall to 6-5 overall and 2-4 in league play, while the Lasers win their third straight to improve to 8-3 and 4-2.

The Sharks fall to 6-4 overall and 2-3 in league play, while the Mustangs win their eighth straight game and improve to 9-1 and a perfect 5-0 in GNAC action.

The Sharks improve to 6-3 overall and 1-2 in league play, while the Falcons fall to 3-4 and 0-3.

The Sharks fall to 4-2 overall, including 0-1 in league play, while the Monks improve to 5-1 and 1-0.

    HENNIKER, N.H. -- Junior midfielder Ana Giarrusso (Hingham, Mass.) matched her career high with four goals to lead the Simmons College women's lacrosse team to a 16-8 victory over host New England College this evening at Don Melander Field in Henniker, N.H. The Sharks improve to 4-1 on the season for their best start since 2013 when they won seven of their first eight games to begin the year, while the Pilgrims fall to 1-2.
  • Fries Leads Lacrosse and Becomes Career Goals Leader in 22-8 Win over St. Vincent

    DAVENPORT, Fla. -- Senior Kasey Fries (Bridgewater, Mass.) netted five goals and became the Simmons College women's lacrosse career leader in goals scored in a 22-8 victory over Saint Vincent College this evening at Northeast Regional Park in Davenport, Fla. The Sharks improve to 3-1 on the season, while the Bearcats fall to 0-1 in their season-opener.

The Sharks improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Seahawks fall to 0-2.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Senior attacker Kasey Fries (Bridgewater, Mass.) sent the match into overtime with no time left in regulation and then netted the game-winner with less than two minutes to play to give the Simmons College women’s lacrosse team a 14-13 victory over visiting Colby-Sawyer College in the Sharks’ season opener this evening at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. Simmons improves to 1-0 on the season, while the Chargers even their mark at 1-1.
