WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College's Kasey Fries (Bridgewater, Mass.) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse All-Conference First Team, while Mallory Cottam (Hope, R.I.) and Lauren Williams (Bowdoinham, Maine) were each selected to the Third Team, it was announced today by the league. 

Fries earns All-Conference accolades for the fourth straight year, including First Team honors in each of the last two seasons. She becomes just the third player in school history to earn an All-Conference nod in all four of her seasons in addition to being just the third Simmons player with multiple First Team awards. The attacker netted a school-record 58 goals in 17 games for the Sharks, including 33 in conference play to rank fifth among GNAC players in league-only games. Fries tallied 71 points for the second-most in school annals with 39 of her points coming against conference foes to place her eighth among league leaders for points in league contests. The senior took advantage of free-position opportunities, scoring a program-record 18 goals in those situations, which ranked her third in overall free-position scores for GNAC players. The Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School product was one of the most consistent scorers in the league, notching at least one goal in every match, including multiple scores in all but one contest. Fries netted five or more goals on four occasions and tallied a season-high six points four times. She enjoyed two separate three-game stretches with five or more goals and was named the GNAC Player of the Week for the week of February 26 to March 4. The two-year Tri-Captain also led Simmons with 13 assists to go with 22 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. 

The Nursing major became the Sharks' all-time leader in points (221), goals (183), free position goals (47) and games played (69), while ranking third in career assists with 38. She also stands eighth in school annals with 102 ground balls. 

Cottam earns All-Conference honors for the first time with a place on the Third Team. The junior found the back of the net 37 times, including 23 goals in GNAC matches to rank 14^th in the league-only games. Cottam's 40 points placed her 20^th on the conference leaderboard, while her 10 free-position goals put her 11^th among GNAC players in all games. The midfielder proved valuable on the draw as well, winning 60 draws to lead the team and place fifth on the school's single-season list, while her 43 draw controls in conference matches placed her seventh in the league. Cottam caused 27 turnovers as well with almost half coming against GNAC rivals with 13, which was good for 12^th among league leaders in GNAC games. A graduate of Scituate High School, Cottam netted at least one goal in all but one contest for Simmons and scored a career-high five goals in a 15-14 victory over Norwich University on April 10. She also posted a career-best in points on March 31 with six vs. Albertus Magnus College. Cottam won a personal-best seven draws vs. Rivier University on March 27 during a four-game span that saw her win 23 draws. 

A Physical Therapy major, Cottam has put together an outstanding offensive career after registering just seven points as a rookie. Since then, the junior has established herself as one of the top offensive threats in school history with 73 goals for the seventh-most on the Sharks' career list, while ranking fourth with 112 draw controls and 10^th with 36 caused turnovers in 54 career matches. She also ranks sixth among Simmons all-time leaders with 16 free-position scores. 

Williams earns an All-Conference nod for the third straight year to become just one of five Sharks with multiple All-Conference accolades and just one of two defenders at Simmons. The junior caused 20 turnovers in 17 games for the Sharks to rank 13^th in the conference and fourth among defenders. Williams registered multiple caused miscues on five occasions, including a season-high of four to go with four ground balls at Emmanuel College (Mass.) on April 24. She put together a streak of five straight matches with at least one caused turnover from March 6-22. The Mount Ararat High School graduate started every match for Simmons and also picked up 26 ground balls to go with career-bests of four goals and 13 draw controls. 

The Tri-Captain has started all 54 matches the team has played during her three-year tenure, while racking up 59 caused turnovers to rank fifth on the Sharks' career last. Williams, a Nursing major, was named to the GNAC Second Team as a first year and to the Third Team a year ago and stands eighth on the school's career games played list. 

Simmons finished the season with an 8-9 overall record, including 4-6 in conference play and earned a spot in the conference tournament as the number seven seed, before falling in the quarterfinal round to Lasell College.
