    GRAND LAKE, Colo. - The Simmons College women's lacrosse team was named a 2017 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Zag Sports Honor Squad in addition to juniors Kasey Fries (Bridgewater, Mass.), Kiera Kirkaldy (Middlebury, Vt.) and Jolene Potter (Readfield, Maine) being named to the Academic Honor Roll, it was announced by the IWLCA.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College’s Kasey Fries (Bridgewater, Mass.) was named to the First Team, while Elena Bragg (Belmont, Mass.), Ana Giarrusso (Hingham, Mass.) and Lauren Williams (Bowdoinham, Maine) were all tabbed to the Third Team by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, it was announced today by the league.

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The sixth-seeded Simmons College women's lacrosse team was defeated by host top-seeded Johnson & Wales University, 19-5, this afternoon in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship at Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletics Complex in Providence, R.I. The Sharks finish their season at 8-12 overall, while the Wildcats improve to 16-4.

    PORTLAND, Maine. – Sophomore midfielder Mallory Cottam (Hope, R.I.) netted a career-high four goals, including the game-winner to give the sixth-seeded Simmons College women’s lacrosse team an 11-10 victory over host second-seeded Saint Joseph’s College (Maine) this evening in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament Semifinals on a rain-soaked Deering Memorial Stadium in Portland, Maine. The Sharks improve to 8-11 overall, while the Monks fall to 13-4.

The Sharks improve to 7-10 on the season, while the Lasers fall to 10-6.

The Sharks fall to 5-9 overall and 2-4 in conference play, while the Raiders improve to 3-10 and 1-5.
