    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University’s Amanda Fortune (Round Rock, Texas) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Second Team, while sophomore Faith Gray-Williams (Las Vegas, Nev.) was tabbed to the Third Team, it was announced today by the league.

    NEW LONDON, N.H. -- Sophomore setter Faith Gray-Williams (Las Vegas, Nev.) finished a kill short of a triple-double with nine kills, 22 assists and 17 digs to go with a block assist to lead the sixth-seeded Simmons University women's volleyball team in a 3-1 (25-20, 26-24, 23-25, 25-23) loss to host number three seed Colby-Sawyer College this evening in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament Quarterfinals at Coffin Field House in New London, N.H. The Sharks close out their season at 14-15, while the Chargers improve to 21-10 and advance to the Semifinals on November 1 in Nashua, N.H., facing second-seeded Rivier University, which defeated seventh-seeded Emmanuel College (Mass.), 3-0.

    NASHUA, N.H. -- First year outside hitter Krissy Lloyd (Tampa, Fla.) smashed 10 kills to lead the Simmons University women's volleyball team in a 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-14) loss to host Rivier University today in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at Muldoon Gymnasium in Nashua, N.H. The Sharks fall to 14-14 overall, including 7-5 in league play to close out the regular season and earn the number six seed in the GNAC Championship Tournament, while the Raiders improve to 25-6 and 11-1 and will compete as the number two seed in the GNAC Tournament.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Simmons University women's volleyball team was defeated by visiting Wheaton College (Mass.), 3-1 (24-26, 25-19, 26-24, 25-20), this evening at Moore Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. The Sharks fall to 14-13 on the season, while the Lyons improve to 22-8.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore setter Faith Gray-Williams (Las Vegas, Nev.) finished a dig short of a triple-double with 10 kills, 13 assists and nine digs to lead the Simmons University women’s volleyball team over visiting Fisher College, 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-, this evening at Moore Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. The Sharks win their fourth straight match and six of their last seven to improve to 14-12, while the Falcons fall to 14-11. 
  • Gray-Williams Leads Volleyball in Tri-Match Sweep over Lasell (3-0) and Massachusetts College (3-0)

    NEWTON, Mass. -- Sophomore setter Faith Gray-Williams (Las Vegas, Nev.) tallied 14 kills, 23 assists, 17 digs and three aces to lead the Simmons University women's volleyball team to a tri-match sweep over hosts Lasell College, 3-0 (25-19, 27-25, 25-20), and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, 3-0 (25-11, 29-27, 25-20), today at the Lasell Athletic Center in Newton, Mass. The Sharks pick up a Great Northeast Athletic Conference victory over Lasell and improve to 13-12 overall and 7-4 in GNAC play, while Lasell is 11-14 and 8-4 and MCLA is 7-15.

    BOSTON, Mass. – First years Reilly Coombs (Deland, Fla.) (16) and Krissy Lloyd (Tampa, Fla.) (14) combined for 30 kills to lead the Simmons University women’s volleyball team to a 3-1 (26-24, 23-25, 25-20, 27-25) victory over visiting Emerson College this evening at Moore Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. The Sharks improve to 11-12 on the season, while the Lions fall to 13-12.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore middle blocker Megan Purser (Miami, Fla.) led the Simmons University women's volleyball team with eight kills on a .208 hitting mark in a 3-1 (25-17, 25-21, 25-27, 25-20) loss to visiting Suffolk University this evening in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at Moore Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. The Sharks fall to 10-12 overall, including 6-4 in league play, while the Rams have won four of their last five and improve to 8-13 overall and 5-3. 
  • Coombs Leads Volleyball in Tri-Match Sweep over Norwich (3-0) and St. Joseph (Conn.) (3-0)

    BOSTON, Mass. – First year Reilly Coombs (Deland, Fla.) put down 24 kills on a .432 hitting percentage to lead the Simmons University women’s volleyball team to a pair of victories in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference tri-match. The Sharks defeated visiting Norwich University, 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 26-24), and University of Saint Joseph (Conn.), 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-15), today at Moore Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. Norwich picked up a win in the middle match over Saint Joseph, 3-2 (25-22, 20-25, 25-11, 23-25, 15-9). Simmons has won four of its last five matches, including four straight conference tilts to improve to 10-11 overall and 6-3 in league action, while Norwich is now 7-11 and 2-6 and Saint Joseph falls to 8-12 and 1-8.

    BABSON PARK, Mass. -- First year Reilly Coombs (Deland, Fla.) led all players with eight kills to lead the Simmons University women's volleyball team in a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-18) loss to host Babson College this evening at Staake Gymnasium in Babson Park, Mass. The Sharks fall to 8-11 on the season, while the Beavers win their fifth straight match to improve to 16-5.

    BOSTON, Mass. -- First year Krissy Lloyd (Tampa, Fla.) put down 11 kills to help the Simmons University Volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-20, 17-25, 25-18, 25-19) victory over cross-street rival Emmanuel College (Mass.) this evening on Andy Yosinoff Court in the Jean Yawkey Center in Boston, Mass. The Sharks improve to 8-10 overall and 4-3 in league play, while the Saints fall to 7-10 and 4-3.
  • Volleyball Splits GNAC Tri-Match; Falls to Colby-Sawyer (3-1), Defeats Albertus Magnus (3-0)

    BOSTON, Mass. – First year middle blocker Amanda Fortune (Round Rock, Texas) led the Simmons women’s volleyball team with 19 kills, five aces and six blocks in a tri-match split, falling to visiting Colby-Sawyer College, 3-1 (16-25, 25-21, 28-26, 25-19), before defeating Albertus Magnus College, 3-0 (25-13, 29-27, 25-16), today at Moore Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. Colby-Sawyer picked up its second victory of the day with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 28-26) win over Albertus Magnus in the middle match to improve to 14-8 overall and 6-2 in league play. The Sharks are now 7-10 and 3-3, while Albertus Magnus falls to 8-9 and 1-6.

    WESTON, Mass. -- Sophomore Megan Purser (Miami, Fla.) put down 16 kills and first year Reilly Coombs (Deland, Fla.) tallied 20 points to lead the Simmons University women's volleyball team in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference tri-match split, defeating host Regis (Mass.), 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25-8, 25-12), before falling to nationally-ranked number four Johnson & Wales University (R.I.), 3-0 (25-6, 25-11, 25-18), today at Higgins Court in Weston, Mass. The Sharks are now 6-9 overall and 2-2 in league play, while Regis is 8-6 and 1-3 and JWU extends its win-streak to 15 to improve to 15-1 and 5-0.

The Sharks fall to 5-8 on the season, while the Beacons improve to 9-4.

The Sharks fall to 5-7 overall, including 1-1 in league play, while the Monks improve to 3-7 and 2-0.

Simmons improves to 5-6 on the season, while the Corsairs fall to 5-3.

The Sharks are now 4-6 on the season, while MIT is 10-1 and Smith is 1-8.

The Sharks improve to 3-4 on the season and 1-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play with the win over AMC, while Anna Maria is 1-4 and 0-1 and Dean is 2-3.

The Sharks fall to 1-3 on the season, while Emerson improves to 4-0 and Western Connecticut is now 3-1.

    DANBURY, Conn. -- Sophomore Faith Gray-Williams (Las Vegas, Nev.) showed her versatility with 37 kills and 40 assists to lead the Simmons College women's volleyball team to a split at the Colonial Classic, hosted by Western Connecticut State University this evening at Feldman Arena in Danbury, Conn. The Sharks fell to Salve Regina University, 3-2 (21-25, 25-15, 25-27, 25-19, 16-14), before bouncing back to defeat Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham, 3-1 (25-22, 24-26, 25-18, 25-19). Simmons is 1-1 on the season, while Salve Regina is 1-1 and FDU-Florham is 0-2 in each program's first day of competition in 2018.
