    DORCHESTER, Mass. - The 17th running of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Cross Country Championship took place at the nationally renowned Franklin Park course on Saturday, October 29th. The Sharks finished 3rd overall in their first varsity campaign.

  • Sharks Finish Second at 2011 Wellesley Invitational

    WELLESLEY, Mass. – The Simmons cross country team placed second overall, and had nine runners finish in the top 20 at the 2011 Wellesley Invitational. The 5K event was held on Wellesley's lake course on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
  • Sharks Finish 7th in Annual Saints Cross Country Invitational

    DORCHESTER, Mass. – Emmanuel College hosted the 7th Annual Saints Cross Country Invitational at Franklin Park on Friday evening. Over 300 runners represented 22 colleges and universities, with 17 women’s teams competing in the 5k race and 16 men’s teams in the 8k event. The meet featured repeat team champions in both races. Lesley University captured the women’s team championship with a combined low score of 51 points.
  • Sharks Show Strength in First Race

    BOSTON, Mass. — Simmons Cross Country opened their season Saturday at The Codfish Bowl 5K at Franklin Park in an open event with diverse competition, ranging from all divisions of collegiate athlete to elite runners. The conditions were unusually humid for this time of year, which became a vice for multiple runners near the finish.

    Simmons Cross Country is gearing up for their first collegiate season after gaining full varsity status earlier this year. Under second season Head Coach Kevin O’Brien, the Sharks will look to improve on last year’s goals of runner development and recruitment to build the program in anticipation of this year’s competitive season.
  • Cross Country Gains Varsity Status for 2011 Season

    Simmons Cross Country will move to varsity status for the fall 2011 season. The program was restored in 2008 as a club team after a 20-year absence from the Department of Athletics. This will be the first varsity cross country offering at Simmons since 1991. Head Coach Kevin O’Brien will return to lead the Sharks this fall after working to rebuild the club program in 2010.
