Cross Country Shows Strong Performances at the Suffolk Invitational

BOSTON – Returning to the Franklin Park course, Simmons cross country continued to improve at the Suffolk 6K Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

For the second straight week, senior runner Sara Hornak ran a sub eight-minute mile to lead the Sharks, crossing the finish line with a time of 28:30. Pacing herself with an 8:29, first-year runner Katie Repoli finished with a time of 31:35, while fellow first-year Neeva Manandhar was right behind crossing in 31:39.  

Fellow first-year runner Julia Pellegrino clipped seconds of her mile time, running an 8:49-minute mile to finish with a time of 32:52. It was just 20 seconds behind classmate Caroline Fleischhauer, who finished with a time of 32:32.

  • Sophomore Beth Pennington ran an 8:51-minute mile to clock a time of 32:57
