STANDISH, Maine – Simmons cross country finished fifth of nine teams at the 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship Meet on Saturday.
Junior Molly Guinivan led the Sharks as she was one of two runners to crack the top-20. Guinivan placed 17th in the 67-runner field with a time of 29:15.2, while fellow classmate Sarah Giuliano was not far behind, finishing 20th with a time of 29:37.7.
First-year runner Justine Paragas ran a personal-best, breaking an eight-minute mile for the first time this season, crossing the finish line with a time of 29:46.4. Fellow first-year runner Kaylah Schnitzer finished 25th with a time of 30:32.3
Sophomore Gabby Flaherty finished with a time of 32:56.9, while first-year runner Beth Pennington rounded out the Sharks runners with running her second-best mile time of the season.
