  • Soccer Receives USC Team Academic Award with Highest GPA in NCAA Division III

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Simmons University women's soccer team posted the highest grade point average among NCAA Division III schools and was named a recipient of the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 academic year it was announced by the USC. The honor is given annually to soccer programs throughout the United States for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team.

    MEXICO CITY, Mexico -- Former Simmons University women's soccer player Tasha Friedman (Phoenix, Ariz.) helped Team USA win the Gold Medal with 1-0 victory over Brazil at the 2019 Pan American Maccabi Games in Mexico City, Mexico recently.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University’s Cíara Forde (Quincy, Mass.) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Second Team, while Mallory Cottam (Hope, R.I.) was tabbed a Third Team selection, it was announced today by the league.

    STANDISH, Maine -- The seventh-seeded Simmons University women's soccer team looked like it was destined for overtime, but host number two seed Saint Joseph's College (Maine) scored the game-winner with 6.1 seconds left in the match this afternoon in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament Quarterfinals at the SJC Athletic Complex in Standish, Maine. The Sharks finish their season with an overall record of 8-8-1, while the Monks improve to 14-3-0 and advance to the GNAC Semifinals. 
  • Soccer Shut Out at Emmanuel (Mass.), 2-0

    BOSTON, Mass. -- The Emmanuel College (Mass.) women's soccer team scored a goal in each half to defeat visiting Simmons University, 2-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at Roberto Clemente Field in Boston, Mass. The Sharks fall to 8-7-1 overall and 6-5-1 in league play, while the Saints win their third straight match to improve to 12-5-0 and 8-3-0.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales University women’s soccer team netted a pair of goals within the first 16 minutes of play to stand up as the winning margin in a 2-0 victory over host Simmons University this evening in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks fall to 8-6-1 overall, including 6-4-1 in league play, while the Wildcats are unbeaten in 10 of their last 11 games and improve to 12-6-1 and 9-2-0.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Seniors Mikayla Elliott (Lowell, Mass.) and Cíara Forde (Quincy, Mass.) each netted a pair of goals on Senior Day to give the Simmons University women’s soccer team a 4-0 victory over visiting Norwich University today in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at rain-soaked Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks improve to 8-5-1 overall and 6-3-1 in league play, while the Cadets fall to 6-6-1 and 3-6-1.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Senior midfielder Cíara Forde (Quincy, Mass.) tallied the lone goal for the Simmons University women's soccer team in a 2-1 loss to host Albertus Magnus College this evening in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match in New Haven, Conn. The Sharks fall to 7-5-1 overall and 5-3-1 in league play, while the Falcons improve to 3-8-0 and 2-6-0.

    BOSTON, Mass. -- Despite holding visiting Lasell College scoreless in the second half, the Simmons University women's soccer team was defeated by the Lasers, 3-0, today in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks' eight-match unbeaten steak comes to an end as they fall to 7-3-1 and 5-2-1 in league play, while Lasell wins its seventh straight contest to improve to 7-3-0 and 7-0-0.
  • Soccer Plays Suffolk to 0-0 Tie in Double Overtime

    BOSTON, Mass. – Following a full 90 minutes and a pair of 10-minute overtime periods, neither the host Simmons University women’s soccer team, nor visiting Suffolk University were able to score in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match, resulting in a 0-0 tie this evening at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks are now 7-3-1 overall and 5-1-1 in league play and run their unbeaten streak to eight straight contests for their longest string since 2011, while the Rams are 2-7-1 and 2-5-1.

    WESTON, Mass. -- Sophomore forward Cierra Martin (Rock Tavern, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal to give the Simmons University women's soccer team a 2-1 victory over host Regis (Mass.) this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at Regis Stadium in Weston, Mass. The Sharks win their seventh straight match for their longest win streak since they won eight consecutive matches during the 2004 campaign and improve to 7-3-0 and 5-1-0 in conference play, while the Pride fall to 5-5-0 and 3-4-0.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Seven different players scored for the Simmons University women’s soccer team in a 10-1 victory over visiting Anna Maria College this evening in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks win their sixth straight match to improve to 6-3-0 overall and 4-1-0 in league play, while the AMCATS fall to 0-10-0 and 0-6-0.

    BOSTON, Mass. -- Sophomore forward Cierra Martin (Rock Tavern, N.Y.) netted a pair of goals and added an assist to lead the Simmons University women's soccer team over Newbury College, 5-0, this evening at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. Although, the match was played at Simmons' home pitch, Newbury served as the home team. The Sharks win their fifth straight game to improve to 5-3-0, while the Nighthawks fall to 1-8-0.

    STANDISH, Maine -- Senior midfielder Cíara Forde (Quincy, Mass.) scored the eventual winning goal in the 83rd minute to give the Simmons University women's soccer team a 3-2 victory over host Saint Joseph's College (Maine) in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action this afternoon at the SJC Athletics Complex in Standish, Maine. The Sharks win their fourth straight match to improve to 4-3-0 overall and 3-1-0 in league play, while the Monks suffer their first loss of the season and dip to 5-1-0 and 3-1-0.

The Sharks win their third straight contest to improve to 3-3-0 overall and 2-1-0 in league play, while the Blue Jays fall to 2-4-0 and 0-3-0.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore forward Cierra Martin (Rock Tavern, N.Y.) scored with 3:33 left in the match to give the Simmons University women’s soccer team a 2-1 victory over visiting Lesley University this evening at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks win their second match in as many nights to improve to 2-3-0 on the season, while the Lynx fall to 2-3-0. The triumph snapped a four-match winless streak for Simmons against Lesley, including a tie in each of the past two seasons.

The Sharks fall to 0-2-0 on the season, while the Lyons improve to 1-0-0 in their season opener.
