  • Brandau, Warren Named to GNAC Women's Soccer All-Conference Team

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University’s Lauren Brandau (Madison, Conn.) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer All-Conference Second Team, while Izabella Warren (Hillsboro, N.H.) was a Third Team selection, it was announced today by the league.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Simmons University women’s soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with visiting Colby-Sawyer College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action this afternoon on Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks finish their season at 4-11-2 overall, including 4-7-1 in league play, while the Chargers are now 8-10-1 and 5-6-1 and await their playoff fate following the rest of the league action today.
  • Mihalich Lifts Soccer Over Saint Joseph (Conn.) in Double-Overtime, 2-1

    BOSTON, Mass. – Senior midfielder Kristen Mihalich (East Rockaway, N.Y.) netted the game-winner in the second overtime to give the Simmons University women’s soccer team a 2-1 victory over visiting University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) this afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play on Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks have won four of their last six and improve to 4-11-1 overall, including 4-7-0 in league play, while the Blue Jays fall to 10-5-1 and 5-5-1. 
  • Warren Leads Soccer to Victory at Rivier, 3-0

    NASHUA, N.H. – First year midfielder Izabella Warren (Hillsboro, N.H.) netted a pair of goals to lead the Simmons University women’s soccer team to a 3-0 victory over host Rivier Univesity this evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on Joanne Merrill Field in Nashua, N.H. The Sharks have won two of their last three matches and improve to 3-11-1 overall, including 3-7-0 in league play, while the Raiders fall to 2-11-2 and 0-9-1.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – First year Melanie Colman (Holliston, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week for the week of October 14-20, it was announced today by the league.

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Simmons University women's soccer team was defeated in double-overtime by host Rhode Island College, 2-1, this afternoon on Alumni Field in Providence, R.I. The Sharks fall to 2-11-1 on the season, while the Anchorwomen improve to 4-12-0.

    PAXTON, Mass. -- Junior forward Cierra Martin (Rock Tavern, N.Y.) tallied the lone goal on the day and first year keeper Melanie Colman (Holliston, Mass.) made 11 saves to give the Simmons University women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over host Anna Maria College this afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at AMCAT Field in Paxton, Mass. The Sharks have won two of their last three contests and improve to 2-10-1 overall, including 2-7-0 in league play, while the AMCATS fall to 3-10-1 and 0-7-1.

    NORTHFIELD, Vt. -- First year midfielder Izabella Warren (Hillsboro, N.H.) registered the first multi-goal effort of her career to lead the Simmons University women's soccer team in a 4-2 loss to host Norwich University this evening in Great Northeat Athletic Conference play at Sabine Field in Northfield, Vt. The Sharks fall to 1-10-1 overall, including 1-7-0 in league play, while the Cadets improve to 4-8-1 and 3-4-1.

The Sharks improve to 1-9-1 overall, including 1-6-0 in league play, while the Saints fall to 5-7-0 and 4-2-0.

The Sharks fall to 0-9-1 overall, including 0-6-0 in league play, while the Lasers improve to 4-7-0 and 4-2-0.

    BOSTON, Mass. -- Junior midfielder Nell Spencer (Buxton, Mass.) scored with 62 seconds left in regulation to send the match into overtime, but the Simmons University women's soccer team was defeated in the second overtime by visiting Regis College (Mass.), 3-2, this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match on rain-soaked Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks fall to 0-8-1 overall and 0-5-0 in league play, while the Pride improve to 5-5-0 and 2-2-0.

The Sharks are now 0-1-1 on the season after its second-ever meeting with MHC, while the Lyons stand at 0-0-1 following their season opener.
