BOSTON – Simmons cross country finished 17^th of 30 teams at the NCAA Division III East Regional Cross Country Championship Meet, Saturday afternoon. The Sharks placed second amongst all Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) teams running with 546 points and a total time of 2:16.49.

Senior runner Alice Najimy finished 62^nd in the 220-plus runner field, running a 6:47.9-minute mile, crossing the finish line with a time of 25:20.7. Fellow senior Chloe O'Hara was not far behind finishing in 26:26.0 to also place in the top-90. 

Sophomore Sarah Cain ran a 7:28.9-minute mile, crossing the finish line in 27:53.6, while classmate Sarah Giuliano was not far back, finishing in 28:32.7.

OTHER SIMMONS RUNNERS

• Junior Clare Thompson finished in 28:36.4.
• Senior Elena Dickey posted a time of 30:58.9.
• Junior Julia DiGiacomo rounded out Simmons with a time of 31:03.8
