BOSTON – Simmons cross country finished second and runners-up to 2021 champion Colby-Sawyer College at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship Meet on a Saturday afternoon.
Finishing with a total of 72 points on the day, it is the highest finish for the Sharks since 2017 when Simmons placed second.
Senior Alice Najimy earned All-Conference recognition, crossing the finish line fourth with a season-best time of 24:59, beating out Colby-Sawyer's Tessa Millette by three seconds. Junior Nick Beaulieu also posted a season-best, finishing in the top-10 with a time of 25:35.
Chloe O'Hara was not far behind placing 15th with a time of 26:29, while Sarah Cain crossed the finish line in 28:02. Clare Thompson crossed the finish in 28:40, while Sarah Giuliano and Julia DiGiacomo followed with times of, 29:20 and 30:47, respectively.
OTHER SIMMONS RUNNERS
- Elena Dickey placed 40th with a time of 31:17.
- Kaitlyn Wyatt finished win 31:34.
- Molly Guinivan and Gabby Flaherty rounded out the Sharks crossing with times of 32:14 and 33:03, respectively.
