Cross Country Prepares for Seven Sisters Championship

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons College has named Brian Cunningham as Head Cross Country coach, announced by Director of Athletics, Ali Kantor. Cunningham is the second head coach since the program transitioned to varsity status in 2011.


BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Cross Country is in final preparations for the 2013 Seven Sisters Cross Country Championships this Saturday hosted by Smith College. 

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Simmons Cross Country finished third at the Wellesley College Invitational Saturday morning against the hosts Wellesley and the University of Southern Maine.

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Cross Country is in final preparations for the 2013 Seven Sisters Cross Country Championships this Saturday hosted by Smith College. This is the first year that the Sharks were invited to participate in the event.

 

Participating in the Championship meet this year is Bryn Mawr, Mount Holyoke, Saint Catherine's, Simmons, Smith, Vasser and Wellesley. The 5K course will start near the Smith College track and wind over multiple surfaces through Northampton along the Mill River.  

 

"The team is honored to be invited to participate in this year's Seven Sisters Cross Country Championships.  It will be a very competitive race and provide valuable championship-level experience to our young team.  I anticipate that we will leave all of our energy on the course and make effective mid-race decisions," said head coach Brian Cunningham.

 

The race begins at 10:30 AM on Saturday, Oct. 19.
