    WINCHESTER, Mass. -- The fourth-seeded Simmons University women's tennis team was defeated by top-seeded Johnson & Wales University, 5-0, this afternoon in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament Semifinals at the Winchester Indoor Tennis Center in Winchester, Mass. The Sharks fall to 8-8 on the season, while the Wildcats improve to 13-1. 
  • Tennis Defeats Colby-Sawyer, 5-2, to Advance to GNAC Tournament Semifinals

    BOSTON, Mass. – The fourth-seeded Simmons University women’s tennis team received wins from the lower part of its line-up to fuel a 5-2 victory over visiting number five seed Colby-Sawyer College this afternoon in the opening round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament on Daly Courts in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks win their third straight dual-match and six of their last seven improve to 8-7 on the season, while the Chargers fall to 3-9. The match was played to decision, leaving play at second and third singles unfinished.
  • Tennis Defeats Saint Joseph (Conn.), 7-2, to Secure Fourth Seed in GNAC Tournament

    HARTFORD, Conn. – Seniors Nickie Nguyen (Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam/Saint Joseph Preparatory (Mass.)) and Marissa Johnson (Norton, Mass.) were both double-winners on Senior Day to lead the Simmons University women’s tennis team to a 7-2 victory over University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match played at Hall High School in Hartford, Conn. The venue was moved from the Sharks home Daly Courts in Brighton, Mass. due to weather concerns. Simmons improves to 7-7 overall, including 4-3 in league play, while the Blue Jays fall to 5-8 and 2-5. 
  • Mariski, McKeever Lead Tennis over Smith, 5-3

    BOSTON, Mass. -- The sophomore tandem of Sarah Mariski (Portand, Maine) and Megan McKeever (Stamford, Conn.) both earned a pair of wins on the day to lead the Simmons University women's tennis team over visiting Smith College, 5-3, this afternoon in a dual match played on Daly Courts in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks improve to 6-7 on the season, while the Pioneers fall to 0-3. The match was suspended with one singles match to play due to the threat of the EEE virus.

    QUINCY, Mass. -- The Simmons University women's tennis team was defeated by host Eastern Nazarene College, 8-1, this afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play at the ENC Tennis Courts in Quincy, Mass. The Sharks fall to 5-7 overall and 3-3 in league play, while the Lions improve to 9-2 and 5-1.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Simmons University women’s tennis team boasted four double-winners in an 8-1 victory over host Suffolk University in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest this afternoon on Daly Courts in Brighton, Mass. Although the match was played on the Sharks home court, the Rams served as the home squad. Simmons wins its third straight to improve to 5-6 overall, including 3-2 in league play, while Suffolk falls to 1-9 and 1-4.

    MILTON, Mass. -- First year Leah Bonis (Bath, Maine) and sophomore Megan McKeever (Stamford, Conn.) each won a pair of matches to lead the Simmons University women's tennis team over host Curry College, 8-1, this afternoon at the Trent J. Scott '96 Tennis Courts in Milton, Mass. The Sharks improve to 4-6 on the season, while the Colonels fall to 0-11.

The Sharks improve to 3-6 overall and 2-2 in league play, while the Falcons fall to 2-6 and 0-4.
