    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College’s Lauren Backhaus (Windsor, Conn.) and Jen Field (Windham, Maine) were named to the First Team All-Conference Softball team by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, while Mikaela Caracciolo (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Hannah Cunningham (Cotuit, Mass.) were both tabbed to the GNAC Second Team. Alison Gauvin (Whitefield, Maine) was selected for the All-Sportsmanship Team, it was announced today by the league.

    EAST BOSTON, Mass. - The fourth-seeded Simmons College softball team was defeated by number five seed Johnson & Wales University, 9-3, this evening at American Legion Playground in East Boston, Mass. The Sharks fall to 18-14 on the season and will play six seed Emmanuel College tomorrow at 12:15 p.m. at American Legion Playground.

    BOSTON, Mass. - The number four seed Simmons College softball team will take on fifth-seeded Johnson & Wales University in the Second Round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday, April 24 at 5:00 p.m. at the American Legion Playground in East Boston, Mass. The winner of the game will take on top-seeded Suffolk University at 7:00 p.m., while the loser will play the following day vs. an opponent to be determined in the loser's bracket of the double elimination tournament.
