Tennis Secures Second Seed in 2023 GNAC Championship Tournament

WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons tennis (5-7, 2-2 GNAC) earned the second in the 2023 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship Tournament announced Sunday afternoon.

Finishing the season with a 2-2 conference mark, Simmons tied the two other tournament contenders: Regis College and the University of St. Joseph (Conn.). With all three teams tied with a 1-1 head-to-head record, the Sharks were awarded the second seed collecting 10 points in the third overall tie-breaker, "points for."

Simmons will host third seed Regis College (5-3, 2-2 GNAC), who secured the three seed based on their head-to-head win over USJ on October 6, at Daly Field on Saturday October 14 at noon.

Defending champion, Colby-Sawyer College claimed the top-seed with a perfect conference mark of 4-0 following a 7-2 victory on Sunday afternoon.
