BRIGHTON, Mass. – In their second match of the spring season, Simmons tennis (8-9) fell to non-conference UMass Boston (12-1) on Sunday afternoon.

The Beacons were quick to take a 2-1 match lead winning first and second doubles. However, in the singles portion of the afternoon, senior Sam Margolin and sophomore Avery Halloran earned singles wins.

In fourth singles, Halloran only need two sets to defeat UMass Boston's Skylar robles, 6-3, 6-0, while in fifth singles Margolin battled back from an 0-1 hole. After dropping the first set, 4-6, to Shreya Saravana Rashana, she quickly evened up the score taking set two 6-1 before grabbing the deciding set, by a tiebreaking score of 12-10.
