BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons tennis climbed to 1-1 on the season following a 7-2 win over Gordon College, Saturday afternoon.

The Sharks set the tone, taking two of three doubles matches. In the singles portion of the competition, the Sharks received strong performances from the bottom of the lineup. Margolin earned her first singles victory of the year with a two-set, 6-1, 6-0, win over Madison Kooyman, while Weed and Halloran won fourth and fifth singles, respectively.

Simmons won five of six singles matches. Junior Olga Zhizhin wasted little time defeating Caroline Helmer in two sets, 6-0, 6-3, in first singles, while Vanessa Camargo knocked off Hannah Hovda, 6-1, 6-1, in third singles.
