Swimming and Diving Opens Night One of the MIT Invitational With Strong Performances

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Returning to the pool, Simmons swimming and diving is off to a good start after the first night of the three-day MIT Invitational on Friday evening.

Swimming the first leg of the 800 free relay, first-year Bee Eckels clipped .64 seconds off her previous season-best time in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:11.32. It set the tone for the remainder of the Sharks relay squad as they finished the event clocking a time of 8:30.22.

Later in the night in a time trial of the 50-yard fly, sophomore Carli Quinlan tied her season-best time, touching the wall in 27.71.
