Quinlan Earns GNAC Rookie Honors for Third Time This Season

WINTHROP, Mass. – First-year swimmer Carli Quinlan was selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the third time announced by the league Monday evening. 

Against nationally ranked programs at the MIT Invitational, first-year Carli Quinlan clocked the program's first sub two-minute time in the 200 freestyle for the first time this season. Competing in the B final, the Haverhill native touched the wall with a season-best, top time of 1:59.06. Quinlan continued to show steady improvement clocking a collegiate-best time of 24.95 in the 50-yard freestyle to earn 3.5 points for the Sharks. On the final day, she posted a season-best time of 1:00.60 in the prelims of the 100 fly then finished third in the C finals of the 100 free (55.30).

Simmons returns to the pool after the winter break with a double dual meet against Colby-Sawyer College and Regis College on Saturday, January 7 in New London, New Hampshire.
