SOUTH KINGSTON, R.I. – Simmons swimming and diving opened up the four-day, 2022 New England Swimming and Diving Championships securing a season-best time in the 800-yard freestyle relay on Thursday evening.

The Sharks quartet of Eva Piernas, Ella Harmon, Emma Serth and Lauren Howard posted a time of 8:13.79 – touching the wall .23 seconds behind Division II Stonehill College. It also was seven seconds fast than their 800-yard free time that helped them secure second in the final event of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championships earlier this month.
