Piernas Opens MIT Invitational for the Sharks with Solid Performance in the Mile

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On the first night of the first night of the MIT Invitational, junior distance swimmer Eva Piernas opened the three-day meet with the 1,650-yard freestyle, Friday evening.   

Piernas placed 17th in the mile race touching the wall with time a time of 19:17.12 – seven seconds ahead of Wheaton College's Taylor Couto. The last time the Sharks competed at the MIT Invitational, Piernas clocked in with a personal-best time of 18:50.73 on Dec. 6, 2019.
