BOSTON – Simmons swimming and diving dropped an inter-division dual meet to Merrimack College, 174-88, on Saturday morning.
The Sharks opened the morning with the 400-yard medley relay. Simmons' A-squad of Camelia Hannah, Meg Driscoll, Ella Harmon and Lauren Howard, posted a time of 4:27.12 to secure second place – a top-time for the 2021-22 season.
Junior Eva Piernas posted an identical time from last week in the 1,000-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 11:22.74 to claim first place. Piernas was one of three Simmons swimmers to secure first place honors against Merrimack.
Senior Lauren Howard clipped .23 seconds off her season-best score in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking in with a time of 56 seconds even, while first-year Hailey Stuck also collected points finishing third with a time of 59.42. Junior Meg Driscoll rounded out the trio of Sharks to finish first, touching the wall first for the second straight week in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:38.44.
The Sharks rounded out the day with the 200-yard freestyle relay where the A-squad of Hailey Stuck, Julia Perconti, Emma Serth, and Lauren Howard posted a time of 1:49.38.
