Scholand Finishes 34th in 200-Yard Freestyle Prelims at NCAA Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Junior Aine Scholand (Albuquerque, N.M.) led all point-scorers, while helping the Simmons University women's swimming & diving team to a sixth-place finish this evening at the MIT Swimming & Diving Winter Invitational at the Al '51 and Barrie Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center Pool in Cambridge, Mass. GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Junior Aine Scholand (Albuquerque, N.M.) finished 34th in the 200-yard freestyle preliminary heat this morning on Day Two of 2019 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

Scholand touched the wall with a season-best time of 1:53.73 to finish more than a quarter second faster than junior Kelly Davey of State University of New York Cortland.

The West Coast native will swim her final event on Saturday, March 23 when she competes in the 1650-yard freestyle.
