Swimming & Diving 200-Medley Relay Squad Places Ninth in ECAC Championship Consolation Finals

SOUTH KINGSTON, R.I. - The Simmons College swimming & diving team's 200-medley relay unit broke the school record on the second day of the 2015 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Championship preliminaries this morning at the Tootell Aquatic Center on the campus of University of Rhode Island in South Kingston, R.I.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Simmons College 200-yard medley relay squad finished ninth in the Consolation Finals of the 2015 Eastern College Athletic Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships this evening at Trees Pool on the campus of University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The Sharks are currently in ninth place with 78.5 points after tonight's finals with one day of competition left to go in the championship meet.

Simmons' 200-medley relay team of sophomore Miriam Swisher (Albuquerque, N.M.), who nearly broke the school record with a lead backstroke split of 27.42, first years Natalie Giraldi (Bedford, N.H.) (breaststroke), Michaela Morris (Duxbury, Mass.) (butterfly) and sophomore Shylee Stewart (Eastham, Mass.) posted a time of 1:49.53 to finish first among consolation finalists and ninth overall in the race.

Giraldi was the Sharks' lone competitor in an individual event, placing 16th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a mark of 1:08.35.
