Sharks Sweep GNAC Swimming Weekly Honors

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Swimming & Diving suffered their first loss of the 2013-2014 season as the visiting Wellesley College Blue swam to a 201-102 victory at the Holmes Sports Center Saturday afternoon. 

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons first years Miriam Swisher (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Sarah Price (New York, N.Y.) were named named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, announced Tuesday by the conference.

KINGSTON, R.I. -- After two days of competition, Simmons Swimming & Diving is ranked 4th at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships at the University of Rhode Island this weekend. Due to the impending snow storm, Saturday's finals were moved to the morning session.

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons first years Miriam Swisher (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Sarah Price (New York, N.Y.) were named named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, announced Tuesday by the conference.

Swisher took top honors in the 100 and 200 Free on Sunday versus Saint Joseph's College (ME) meet. During Saturday's match-up with Mount Holyoke, Swisher won both the 50 and 100 back, as well as the 50 free. She also anchored the winning 200 Free Relay, coming from behind to win by a third of second.

Price finished first in the 100 breast and the 50 free against the Monks on Sunday. The first year also swam the butterfly on the winning 200 Medley Relay. Price scored 18 individual points to the Sharks final score. 

Simmons hosts UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday at 6:00 PM in their final home meet of the season.
