Sharks Sweep GNAC Weekly Honors

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Swimming and Diving first year Miriam Swisher (Albuquerque, N.M.) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week announced Monday by the conference. 

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons senior Jen Collins (Trumbull, Conn.) and first year Miriam Swisher (Albuquerque, N.M.) were named GNAC Swimming & Diving Swimmer of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, announced Tuesday by the Conference. 

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons first year Shylee Stewart (Eastham, Mass.) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Rookie of the Year announced today by the conference. Head Coach Mindy Williams received GNAC Swimming Coach of the Year honors for the second straight year.

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons senior Jen Collins (Trumbull, Conn.) and first year Miriam Swisher (Albuquerque, N.M.) were named GNAC Swimming & Diving Swimmer of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, announced Tuesday by the Conference. The Sharks won their 10th consecutive GNAC Championship on Sunday afternoon, scoring more than 400 points.

 

Senior Jen Collins scored 36 individual points for Simmons, and broke the GNAC record in the 200 IM, 100 Fly, 100 IM and 200 Fly. In addition, she was the third leg of the winning 200 Free Relay and the final leg in the winning 400 Medley Relay.

 

Simmons first year Miriam Swisher also scored 36 individual points for the Sharks and took home top honors in the 50 Free, 200 Free, 200 Free and 100 Back, setting three new GNAC records in the process.

 

The Sharks return to the pool on Jan. 11 at home against Mount Holyoke College at 12:00 PM.
