Swisher Named GNAC Swimmer of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Swimming and Diving first year Miriam Swisher (Albuquerque, N.M.) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week announced Monday by the conference. BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons senior Jen Collins (Trumbull, Conn.) and first year Miriam Swisher (Albuquerque, N.M.) were named GNAC Swimming & Diving Swimmer of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, announced Tuesday by the Conference. BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons first year Shylee Stewart (Eastham, Mass.) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Rookie of the Year announced today by the conference. Head Coach Mindy Williams received GNAC Swimming Coach of the Year honors for the second straight year.

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Swimming and Diving first year Miriam Swisher (Albuquerque, N.M.) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week announced Monday by the conference. This is the second time Swisher has been recognized by the conference in the opening three weeks of the season.

The rookie finished first in all three of her individual events against the University of New England, including the 100 Free, 50 Fly and, 50 Back to earn 27 individual points for the Sharks. Swisher also lead off the winning 200 Medley Relay, which defeated the Nor'easters by more than two seconds.

Swisher received GNAC Rookie of the Week honors on Oct. 29. The Sharks return to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 16 at home against Wellesley College at 1:00 PM.
