Sharks Prepare for 2013 NEISDA Championship This Weekend

BOSTON, Mass. -- Fourteen members of the Simmons Swimming and Diving team will travel to the Upper Valley Aquatics Center on Friday, February 8th to compete in the 2013 New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Championships over the weekend.

BOSTON, Mass. -- Fourteen members of the Simmons Swimming and Diving team will travel to the Upper Valley Aquatics Center on Friday, February 8th to compete in the 2013 New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Championships over the weekend.

 

The Sharks have entries in 22 of the 23 events and will enter seven relays during the weekend, including the 200 Freestyle Relay, which is seeded second. The top 24 finishers in each event will qualify to swim in the evening finals and the Sharks are well positioned to make the evening cut.

 

Representing the Sharks are seniors Anne Karasek (Brookline, Mass.), Molly Bohannon (Deep River, Conn.), Marissa Soucy (Mont Vernon, N.H.), Liz Zamagni (Chelmsford, Mass.), Isabel Stearns (Plymouth, Mass.) and Rachael Mullen (Peabody, Mass.), junior Amy Davis (Southbury, Conn.), sophomores Hillary Wong (Quincy, Mass.), Chloe Davis (Manchester, N.H.) and Joleigh Ferro (Pittsfield, Mass.) and freshmen Kevyn Lee (New York, N.Y.), Rachel Chenard (Saco, Maine), Kirsten Vickey (Taunton, Mass.) and Maddy McDonald (Westwood, Mass.).

 

"I have high hopes for our team. Everyone has been very focused in training these past few weeks and their individual and team goals are very clear. If everyone races to their potential, we'll come home Sunday night with some exciting news," said Head Coach Mindy Williams.
