CHICOPEE, Mass. -- Simmons swimming and diving swept Elms College (75-47) and Gordon College (88-34) on Saturday afternoon at Partyka Natatorium. The undefeated Sharks were led by junior Jen Collins (Trumbull, Conn.), who scored 30 individual points and sophomore Chloe Davis (Merrimack, N.H.), who added 24 points of her own.

In the dual meet versus Gordon, Amy Davis (Southbury, Conn.) finished first in both the 50 and 100 Fly. In the match-up vs. Elms, she finished first in the 100 Fly and second in the 50 Fly by only two-tenths of a second.

Rookies Kevyn Lee (New York, N.Y.) and Maddy McDonald (Westwood, Mass.) scored 20 and 14 individual points, respectively for the Sharks. McDonald finished second to Collins in the 100 Free versus Elms and finished third in the same race against Gordon. She secured two wins in the 50 Free against both opponents.

In the distance events, Molly Bohannon (Westbrook, Conn.) swam to second place finishes in the 800 Free versus Gordon and in the 100 Fly versus both Elms and Gordon. Bohannon's second place touch in the 100 Fly was a come-from-behind finish where she was able to pass Elms College's top seed in the last five meters of the race.

"The team went into this meet ready to win and to see what they could do. Their times were great and they maintained a great level of energy throughout the meet. The rookies are really starting to prove themselves. They contributed a ton of points to the team score, which bodes well for the future of our program," said head coach Mindy Williams.

The Sharks return to action on Saturday, November 10th at the University of New England at 1:00 p.m.
