BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Swimming and Diving has been named to the Fall 2011 Scholar All America Team announced Wednesday by the College Swim Coaches Association of America. The Sharks made the list with a GPA of 3.31, falling in between neighbors Smith College and Wellesley College.

Simmons finished the 2011-2012 season as Great Northeast Athletic Conference Champions for the eighth year in a row. The Sharks had 13 swimmers qualify for NEISDA Championships this February, breaking five school records and claiming a first place finish in the 100 IM by sophomore standout Jen Collins (Trumbull, Conn.)

"The team's performance at New Englands was the perfect ending to a very successful season for us. The team really increased their training volume and intensity this past winter and their end-of-season times definitely reflected their hard work. I am so proud of them," said head coach Mindy Williams.
