STANDISH, Maine -- Simmons Swimming and Diving was victorious over Great Northeast Athletic Conference rival Saint Joseph's College of Maine 166-87, Saturday afternoon, the team's third straight win in five days. Senior Molly Bohannon (Westbrook, Conn.) and sophomore Jen Collins (Trumbull, Conn.) paced the Sharks with 18 individual points apiece.

The Sharks won the 200 Medley Relay as Stephanie Bitzas (Westfield, Mass.), Liz Zamagni (Chelmsford, Mass.), Marissa Soucy (Mont Vernon, N.H.), and Nicole Eskenazi (Goleta, Calif.) edged a three second margin over the Monks. The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Amy Davis (Southbury, Conn.), Joleigh Ferro (Pittsfield, Mass.), Chloe Davis (Merrimack, N.H.), and Collins took home 11 points for the Sharks for their first place finish.

In the individual events, Bohannon won the 500 and 1000 Freestyle events by an impressive margin and Collins won the 100 Free and 50 Fly. Eskenazi won the 200 Freestyle event and finished second in the 100 Fly, while C. Davis took the top spot in the 100 Backstroke.

Senior Stephanie Bitas added another first place finish for the Sharks in the 200 IM and Zamagni won the 100 Breastroke by two seconds.

"This was a busy week for our team, with three meets within five days. The athletes accepted the challenge and posted some fast times. After a close loss against Mt Holyoke last weekend, it was great to bounce back with three wins this week," said Coach Williams.

The Sharks return to the pool on Wednesday, January 25th when they host Westfield State at 7:00 p.m.
