BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Swimming and Diving swept their first meet of the season against the Gordon College Fighting Scots 96-30, and the Elms College Blazers 69-58, Saturday afternoon at the Holmes Sports Center. The Blazers defeated the Fighting Scots 87-34. The Sharks also hosted a dual men's meet between the Blazers and Fighting Scots, with the Blazers defeating Gordon College, 138-89.

The Sharks posted impressive performances by junior Molly Bohannon (Westbrook, Conn.) who placed second in the 1000 Yard Freestyle and the 100 Yard Butterfly and took first place in the 500 Yard Freestyle event.

Simmons freshman Chloe Davis (Merrimack, N.H.) had a stellar first meet for the Sharks, claiming first place finishes in the 200 Yard Freestyle and 50 Yard Freestyle, and a second place finish in the 100 Yard Freestyle, just behind fellow Shark Amy Davis (Southbury, Conn.).

Sophomore Lea Monahan (Avon, Mass.) was the lone diver in the meet, scoring a 123.60 in her first appearance. Senior Stephanie Bitzas (Westfield, Mass.) placed second in both the 50 Yard Backstroke and 100 Yard Backstroke and the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of A. Davis, Marissa Soucy (Mont Vernon, N.H.), Hillary Wong (Quincy, Mass.), and C. Davis took first place by more than five seconds.

The Sharks return to action at home next Saturday, November 12th at 1:00 p.m. against New England College.
