Musket edged out Westfield's Jenna Tasse by 21-hundtredths of a second for the first place swim and the dual records. "During the last few practices, the team has been focusing on fast finishes, which we definitely saw in the last five yards of Alyssa's swim," said Head Coach Mindy Williams. "I am thrilled that in Alyssa's first collegiate meet she was able to knock a name off the record board."

Musket also swam to first place finishes in the 50 Fly and the 200 Free Relay, along with teammates Virginia Bette (Southbury, Conn.), Nellie Jackson (Dorchester, Mass.) and captain Brittany Torelli (Waterbury, Conn.), and finished second in the 100 Free.

Jackson had a victory for the Sharks in the 100-yard Fly, swimming to a 1:08.48, ahead of third-place captain Caitlin Urciuoli (Wethersfield, Conn.) in 1:14.01. Urciuoli also swam to a third place finish in the 500-yard Free, behind teammate Bette who touched the wall in second place.

Torelli also snatched up wins in the 100-yard Breast (1:17.91) and 100-yard IM (1:10.03).

The Owls dominated the diving competitions, but freshman Kaira King (Las Vegas, Nev.) flipped her way to a second place finish in the 1-meter springboard (185.70), just ahead of teammate Amanda Dirksmeier (Marshfield, Mass.) who dove to a third place finish (180.40). King was also the top finisher for Simmons in the 3-meter springboard, placing fourth (185.05).
