Simmons’ Arsenault Sets Pool and GNAC Record on Day One of Swimming & Diving Championships

Simmons Senior Keri-Ann Arsenault lowered her own pool and GNAC records for the 1650-yard Freestyle, during the first day of competition at the 2008 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women?s Swimming & Diving Championships.

Simmons senior Keri-Ann Arsenault (Chester, N.H.) was selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Year for the second consecutive season in a vote by the conference coaches. Junior Brittany Torelli (Waterbury, Conn.) was also named to the All-Conference Sportsmanship team.

Simmons Senior Keri-Ann Arsenault lowered her own pool and GNAC records for the 1650-yard Freestyle, during the first day of competition at the 2008 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships.

Arsenault's previous pool record of 19:22.14, set in 2005, and GNAC record of 19:50.46, set in 2007, were trimmed to a speedy 19:20.48.

Day two of the GNAC Swimming & Diving Championships will begin Sunday morning with prelims at 10:00am, and finals at 3:00pm. The Holmes Sports and Fitness Center Pool at Simmons College will open at 8:30am for warm-up.
