The Simmons swimming and diving team earned the CSCAA Academic All-American Team Award for the 2008 season, as announced by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. In order to be named on the CSCAA All-Academic list, teams must have had a combined team grade point average of 3.0 or better during the fall 2008 term.
Simmons was one of fourteen teams from New England to earn All-American team honors; Brandeis University, Colby College, Connecticut College, MIT, Mount Holyoke, Smith, Springfield College, Trinity College, Tufts University, Wesleyan University, Wheaton College, WPI, and University of New England.
"It is wonderful to see our Swimming & Diving team excel both in the pool and in the classroom," said Simmons Director of Athletics Ali Kantor. "I am not surprised they have achieved such significant academic honors, as I have seen them they apply themselves with such dedication, determination in a difficult sport of discipline. We are proud of Simmons Swimming & Diving."
