Soccer Recognizes Seniors Prior to Match against Lasell

BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons soccer (2-11-1, 2-7-1 GNAC) fell to Lasell University (9-4-0, 9-2-0 GNAC), 5-0, on Wednesday evening. 

Before the game the Sharks recognized their four seniors, Gabby Cacia, Sierra Duggan and Nell Spencer for the hard-work and dedication to the Simmons soccer program.

The two teams battled back and forth early on in the contest, before Lasell's Alyssa DeOliveira broke the scoreless tie in the 18th minute on pass from junior Alex Lorenzo. In the 37th minute, Laser first-year Julia Vaillancourt connected with Korynne Provenzano to give Lasell the 2-0 advantage they took into half time.

Returning to the field at the start of the second half, DeOliveira increased the lead to three, scoring her second goal of the game. The Lasers did not look back adding another two goals late in the contest to earn its ninth win of the year.

Simmons sophomore goalkeeper Marita Nothacker registered eight saves. Juniors Izabella Warren and Riley Wasiuk registered two shots on net for the Sharks.
