Soccer Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Honors for 18th Time

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the 18th time in program history, Simmons soccer earned the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2020-21 academic year announced Friday.

Simmons was one of 609 soccer programs from across all divisions to post a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher, posting a 3.71 team GPA over the course of the 2020-21 academic year. The Sharks earned the honors in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. 

Additionally, the Sharks were one of four Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) schools to receive the accolades. Albertus Magnus, Colby-Sawyer and Regis were the other three conference schools to earn the honors for the past academic year.
