MADISON, N.J. - Seven different players scored for the Simmons College soccer team in a 7-0 victory over Saint Joseph's College Long Island this afternoon on the second day of the FDU-Florham Classic in Madison, N.J. on the campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University. The Sharks remain unbeaten for the season at 1-0-1, while the Golden Eagles fall to 0-2-0. The match was called with 9:31 left to play, due to an impending storm in the Northern New Jersey area.

The seven goals marks the highest scoring output for Simmons since scoring 16 times vs. Anna Maria College on October 6, 2012.

Junior forward Greer Gilbert (Falmouth, Mass.), sophomore forward Emily Gubbins (Westmoreland, N.Y.) and first year forward Kashka Gammon (Nashua, N.H.) all collected at least one goal and one assist on the afternoon to lead the Sharks.

Gilbert wasted no time in getting Simmons on the board, scoring on a feed from Gammon just 27 seconds into the contest. First year forward Erin Montambault (Watertown, Conn.) connected for her third score of the season on an assist from junior midfielder Alexis Eusebio (Dartmouth, Mass.) at the 20:10 mark. The Sharks scored the third and final goal of the opening half when first year keeper Casey Halle (Watertown, Mass.) recorded the rare keeper assist on Gammon's first collegiate goal with 4:20 to go in the half.

Gilbert found first year midfielder Gabrielle Klane (Franklin, Mass.) just over six minutes into the second stanza with a thru-ball behind the defense that Klane blasted into the back of the net to make it 4-0 for Simmons.

The score remained at 4-0 for the next 20 minutes until the Sharks strung together three goals in less than eight minutes to take a 7-0 advantage. Gubbins notched her first point of the season when she found first year forward Kali DeNisi (Killingworth, Conn.) on a two-on-one for her first career tally at 71:51 of the second half. First year defender Liz Donovan (Nashua, N.H.) followed with her first collegiate strike, less than four minutes later, on a shot from 15 yards outside of the box that snuck just inside the net to give Simmons its sixth marker. Gubbins capped the day's scoring when Gammon and Eusebio combined to assist on the sophomore's first goal of the year at the 79:22 mark. It was the fourth point of the afternoon for Gammon.

Halle registered her first career shutout with four saves in 80:29 of play in her first collegiate start, while junior Katie McGarrell (Selden, N.Y.) stopped a pair of shots for St. Joseph's.
