BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Soccer landed the #7 seed in the upcoming Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship tournament announced Saturday by the Conference. The Sharks (8-9, 5-6) will travel to face #2 seeded Albertus Magnus (12-4-2, 9-2) on Saturday, Nov. 2. The teams last met on Oct. 12 when the Falcons slipped past the Sharks in the final minutes, 1-0.

Saint Joseph's College (Me.) finished (14-3, 9-2) for the #3 seed and will host #6 Suffolk (6-11, 6-5) at 2:30 PM. On the other side of the bracket, #1 seeded Lasell College (13-3-1, 10-0-1) will host #8 Johnson & Wales (6-9-3, 4-5-2), while #4 Emmanuel (9-7-3, 7-2-2) will host #5 University of Saint Joseph (10-4-3, 6-2-3). The winners will advance to the Semifinals on Tuesday, Nov. 5 with the Championship scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10 at the highest remaining seed.

"We are excited to return to the GNAC Tournament and from my experience, once a team earns a spot in the conference tournament, the opportunity to win a championship is there for the taking. When we faced Albertus Magnus in the regular season, the game could have gone either way.  We are ready for a rematch and I am confident that our team will show up in Connecticut prepared, motivated and determined to play our best," said Head Coach Erica Schuling.

The Sharks wrap up their regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at home against Springfield College at 7:00 PM.
