BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons senior Justine Beauchamp (Exeter, N.H.) was named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District® Division III Women's Soccer Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday. The selections recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Beauchamp, a Physical Therapy major, holds a 3.624 cumulative grade point average and is one of three Simmons athletes to be inducted into the Doctoral of Physical Therapy program at Simmons in the summer of 2012. She has received Dean's List honors four semesters and has also been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-Academic team.

Athletically, Beauchamp leads the Sharks in scoring with eight goals and two assists this season and was ranked nationally in Division III for single game assists with three versus Western New England in 2011. She was named the 2009 GNAC Rookie of the Year and has received All-Conference accolades for the past three seasons.

Off the field, Justine volunteers with Micro-soccer and the Exercise Physiology/Nutrition liaisons 5K for hunger, acts as a peer tutor for inorganic chemistry and spent the summer of 2011 as a volunteer at the Webster at Rye Rehabilitation Home.

"Justine is a tremendous athlete and a devoted student. She has continued to impress me every year with her ability to balance her rigorous accelerated physical therapy curriculum with our challenging soccer schedule while demonstrating solid leadership on and off the field as a captain. I am very proud of Justine and all of her accomplishments," said Head Coach Erica Mastrogiacomo.

First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

The No. 4 Sharks will play for the 2012 GNAC Championship on Sunday, November 4th at 1:00 p.m. versus the No. 2 Lasell College Lasers at Lasell.
