Nashua, N.H. ? The Simmons Sharks made an early goal stand up as they nip the Rivier College Raiders, 1-0 in GNAC Women's Soccer action. The Sharks (3-5 overall, 2-2 GNAC) scored the only goal just 1:12 into the game. Simmons sophomore Desh Perera (Reading, Mass.) redirected a shot from Justine Beauchamp (Exeter, N.H.), which was able to sneak past Rivier goalkeeper Christine Surber (Langdon, NH).

Nashua, N.H. – The Simmons Sharks made an early goal stand up as they nip the Rivier College Raiders, 1-0 in GNAC Women's Soccer action. The Sharks (3-5 overall, 2-2 GNAC) scored the only goal just 1:12 into the game. Simmons sophomore Desh Perera (Reading, Mass.) redirected a shot from Justine Beauchamp (Exeter, N.H.), which was able to sneak past Rivier goalkeeper Christine Surber (Langdon, NH).

The teams played scoreless for the final 88 minutes as the Sharks held on for the 1-0 win.

Simmons goalkeeper Ashley Wheeler (Nashua, N.H.) stopped all four shots she saw, posting her second shutout of the season. Surber made 10 saves for the Raiders.

Simmons will host GNAC opponent Saint Joseph's College (Maine) on Wednesday, September 28th at 7:00 p.m. Rivier will host cross town foe Daniel Webster College also on Wednesday.
