GNAC Soccer Quarterfinal Game Postponed

BOSTON, Mass. ? The Albertus Magnus Falcons edged out the Simmons Sharks 2-1 in a GNAC conference thriller Wednesday night at The Winsor School fields. The game was tied at one until the 82nd minute when Danielle Figueroa (Bridgeport, Conn.) bounced a shot past Sharks keeper Ashley Wheeler (Nashua, N.H.) to take the lead. BOSTON, Mass. -- #3 Albertus Magnus was faced with snowy conditions Saturday as the GNAC soccer quarterfinal contest against #6 Simmons was postponed until Monday, October 31st at 2:00 p.m.

Albertus enters the weekend after a 2-0 loss to Nichols College in non-conference action last Tuesday. They are 4-2-0 in their last six games. They enter Saturday's match looking for their first-ever tournament victory.

Simmons enters the weekend 8-7-3, while posting a record of 7-4-2 in GNAC play. The Sharks are led by Ashley Wheeler, who was named ECAC Goalkeeper of the Week for her efforts last week as she led her team to two shutout victories.
